Won’t epoxy peel like the kit I tried years ago?
DIY kits fail because paint is rolled onto sealed, dirty concrete. We diamond-grind the slab first so the coating keys into the concrete itself.
What about hot tires?
Hot-tire pickup is the classic DIY-kit failure. Professionally applied epoxy/polyaspartic systems over ground concrete are formulated against exactly this.
Can you coat a damp basement floor?
We test the slab's moisture before quoting, not after coating. If the numbers say your floor shouldn't be coated yet, we'll tell you that instead of selling you one.
How long before I can use the floor?
It depends on the system. Polyaspartic top coats take foot traffic quickly; full epoxy builds need longer before a car sits on them. Your written estimate lists the exact walk-on and park-on times for the system we spec — so you know before you commit, not after.
Why not just use a $200 DIY kit?
Kits are paint rolled over sealed, dirty concrete — the classic result is peeling within a year or two, usually starting where hot tires sit. A professional floor starts with diamond grinding, uses industrial-grade coatings, and goes on in controlled thicknesses. It costs more than a kit because it's a different product.
Where does my stuff go during the job?
Good question — most garages aren't empty. The floor does need to be clear, and for most jobs everything stages in the driveway while we work. We'll make a plan for your stuff together at the estimate, before anything is scheduled.
Epoxy or polyaspartic — which do I need?
Epoxy builds thickness; polyaspartic is UV-stable and cures fast. Most floors get a hybrid: epoxy base, polyaspartic top.
